How do i play the electronic drums while being recorded in the computer?

I have a Typhoon Tydd-01 electronic drums. I was wondering if theres some kind of device that would allow me to record the sound IN the computer. Any cable or a wire or anything to make this possible. (Answer please)

Well technically any device with an audio output can be recorded by the PC.
I’m unfamiliar with your particular drum set, however I’m guessing it has at the very least a headphone socket.

You can run a phono cable (bought from any electronics store) from the headphone out on the drums to the mic in or line in on the pc.

Any audio recording tool will be compatible, so long as you set the soruce to whatever the cable is plugged into. Search Audacity on google if you need a free and solid program!

Upon playing your recorded track back, if it sounds really distorted and noisy, it may be due to an option called “mic boost” which is found in your PC’s audio properties. Uncheck this before recording if this problem occurs.

Apart from that, if you want to fine-tweak your drum beats separately on a sequencing program, you’ll have to use a midi interface. Check if your kit has a midi in and/or out.

Good luck and have fun with it!

I have a great program that I am using called Easy-Hi-Q recorder. It cost me only $20 but it records with great quality for a one track system (up to 320 bits), and I record from my “line in” on my computer instead of the “Mic” input.

    BzB :-)
